This blog and my books are really about making time - so, plenty of crafty projects to encourage creativity and imagination, as well as the chance to explore and enjoy simple, fun stuff together.
Most of my projects are for primary school children to help keep that interest in craft and creating alive and kicking, at a time when there are so many other (mainly techy) distractions creeping in.
It can be a challenge to capture imagination, and stop enthusiasm waning sometimes. Many of the projects you'll find here are themed and work together, and I think this can help hold attention, by getting them involved in building up collections or creating settings, and making a proper scene!
I'm a lover of jumble - a make-do-and-mender at heart - never happier than when I've found another purpose for old, unwanted bits and bobs. For me it's the challenge of turning nothing into something for very little cost.
So, all my kids' crafts use easy to get hold of cardboard packaging, like egg boxes, tubes and cereal packets. By showing children what's possible with these simple, everyday things, I'm sure it won't be long before they're coming up with their own wonderfully creative ideas.
My first kids' craft book, Make Your Own Zoo was published by CICO Books in 2015 and Make Your Own Farm Animals comes out in March. The animals from both books also appear in the Animal Fun! set of board books for little ones.
As well as upcycled kids' crafts I may occasionally stray into grown-up ones too - making time for me if you like :)
